Climate Talks: Suame Magazine gears up for Ghana’s electric mobility future

For many mechanics at Suame Magazine, the sound of engines has defined their livelihoods for years. But a new kind of engine silent, electric, and driven by advanced technology, is steadily reshaping the global automobile industry.

As part of efforts to prepare local artisans for this transition, the German Embassy–JoyNews Climate Talks held in Kumasi explored practical steps to support mechanics in adapting to electric vehicle technology.

Their preparedness took centre stage at the 2025 edition of the Climate Talks, held under the theme “Innovation in Motion: Artisans at the Centre of Ghana’s Electric Mobility Revolution.” The forum drew nearly 200 participants for an in-depth discussion on practical pathways toward positioning Ghana for an electric mobility future.
