Clean Jobs Company Limited has firmly rejected allegations made by the Western North Regional Minister in a recent interview with JoyNews, which accused the company of involvement in illegal mining activities within the Tano Anwia Forest Reserve.

In a statement issued in response to the accusations, Clean Jobs clarified its position and reaffirmed its commitment to adhering to legal and environmental regulations in all of its operations.

Commitment to Legal Operations

Clean Jobs Company Limited unequivocally denies any engagement in illegal mining activities. The company stated that it operates strictly within the confines of the law and in full compliance with Ghana’s Minerals and Mining Act (Act 703).

“We have no interest or involvement in illegal mining and operate strictly within the legal framework,” the company’s spokesperson said.

The statement went on to clarify that Clean Jobs has not yet begun operations within the Forest Reserve, but has been actively fighting against illegal operators within its concession area.

The company stressed that it maintains transparency in all its operations as the legitimate owners of the concession.

Clarification of Operations

Clean Jobs emphasised its commitment to environmental protection, confirming that all operations undergo rigorous environmental and legal assessments before they commence.

The company made it clear that at no point has it been involved in activities that could harm the Tano Anwia Forest Reserve or its ecosystem.

“We must also highlight that it is intruders who are conducting illegal mining activities on our concession, and certain individuals within the current political regime have prevented us from accessing our legally acquired concessions,” the company’s statement explained.

Clean Jobs clarified that it holds all necessary mining leases and permits from both the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Forestry Commission, yet the illegal activities taking place on its concession have prevented it from carrying out its legal operations.

Commitment to the Environment and Local Communities

Clean Jobs Company Limited has long advocated for responsible, sustainable development. The company is involved in several initiatives designed to improve the livelihoods of local communities and protect the environment.

“Any accusations to the contrary are completely unfounded and do not reflect the values that guide our company,” the statement noted. Clean Jobs reiterated its commitment to the betterment of local communities and the preservation of natural resources.

Request for Clarification and Dialogue

Clean Jobs has called on the Western North Regional Minister and all relevant stakeholders to engage in open dialogue to resolve the misunderstanding and clarify the facts.

The company expressed its commitment to ensuring the accuracy of the information being presented to the public.

“We are eager to resolve this matter through dialogue and ensure the public has the correct information,” the company added.

The company reiterated its confidence that a thorough investigation will confirm its lawful operations and adherence to environmental policies.

Clean Jobs further affirmed its willingness to cooperate fully with any inquiries or reviews regarding its activities.

“We stand by our commitment to operating legally, ethically, and in full support of Ghana’s environmental policies”, it said.

We are confident that a thorough investigation will reveal the truth of our operations, and we are prepared to fully cooperate with any inquiries or reviews into our activities.

“We urge the public to disregard these false accusations and continue to support the positive contributions Clean Jobs Company Limited is making in local communities across the region,” the statement concluded.
