Chief Justice pays courtesy call on Education Minister to strengthen institutional collaboration

The Chief Justice Paul Kwadwo Baffoe-Bonnie has paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Education in Accra as part of efforts to deepen collaboration between the Judiciary and the education sector.

He was accompanied by the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dr Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, Justice Gabriel Scott Pwamang, and Dr Raymond A. Atuguba.

The visit provided a platform for discussions on areas of shared interest between the two institutions.

During the engagement, the Chief Justice underscored the central role of education in advancing justice, upholding the rule of law and supporting national development.

He emphasised the need to strengthen legal education, civic responsibility and ethical training within Ghana’s educational framework.

According to him, an informed and educated citizenry is critical to sustaining democracy and promoting respect for the rule of law, adding that early exposure to civic and legal principles would help nurture responsible future leaders.

The discussions also focused on practical ways the Judiciary and the Ministry of Education could collaborate to enhance public understanding of the legal system and promote accountability and civic awareness among students.

The visit reaffirmed the Judiciary’s commitment to working closely with key national institutions to support education and entrench democratic values across the country.
