Championing Development: Ejurahene touts infrastructure and development achievements

The Chief of Ejura Divisional Council, Barimah Osei Hwedie II, has highlighted the major infrastructural projects undertaken since assuming the role of Ejurahene.

These projects include 15 initiatives in the sectors of education, health, and security.

Speaking at the climax of the Ejura Sekyerene Festival, the Chief attributed the success to the support from the traditional council, emphasizing the role of the Queenmother, Nana Akua Tiwaa II.

In the area of healthcare, the traditional ruler pointed to the construction of a six-bedroom bungalow for the Medical Superintendent of the Ejura Government Hospital.

Prior to this, Barimah Osei Hwedie II had completed a fence wall project at the hospital.

“Through partnerships with some institutions, a maternity unit at the Ejura Government Hospital is currently under construction,” he said.

In recent years, security has become a major concern for the people of Ejura and its environs.

To address this, the traditional authority took interest in strengthening security in the area.

Following the establishment of a Divisional Command, Nana Osei Hwedie II initiated the construction of an office complex for the Ejura Divisional Police Headquarters, valued at 3.2 million Ghana Cedis.

Additionally, the traditional authority has financed some activities of the police service.

The Ghana National Fire Service, through the traditional authority, has taken delivery of a seven-unit bungalow for its staff.

Barimah Osei Hwedie II hinted, “We have released 640 acres of land to the Ghana Prison Service and the Ministry of Defense to set up a military detachment camp to curb crime in the area.”

In the area of education, many students in the Municipality have received scholarships from the traditional authority.

Furthermore, some basic school facilities have been improved with classroom blocks and office complexes.

To facilitate trade in the area, a partnership has been formed with private organizations to construct a market complex.

Barimah Osei Hwedie II emphasized the importance of development projects that bring security, jobs, income, and improved living standards.

The Ejurahene expressed gratitude to his people for their support and urged them to continue working together towards the development of Ejura.

He acknowledged the significance of the Yam Festival, which unites the people and fosters development.
