Cassona Global Imaging donates $40,000 ultrasound machine to KNUST

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) , College of Health has received a donation of a Mindray Consona N6 Ultrasound machine from Cassona Global Imaging Ltd, a leading medical technology company.

The donation, valued at $40,000, was made on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the School of Health, KNUST.

The philanthropic support from Cassona is expected to have a significant impact on healthcare in Ghana, particularly in rural areas where access to quality medical care is limited. With the new ultrasound machine, students and medical professionals will be able to receive practical training, improving their skills and knowledge in medical imaging.

The Mindray Consona N6 Ultrasound Machine is a cutting-edge diagnostic system designed for various medical applications, including general imaging, cardiovascular care, and women’s health.

Its advanced features include ZST+ Technology that provides exceptional image quality with pixel-level precision; Ergonomic Design, which features a 21.5″ Full HD LED monitor and a rotatable control panel for ease of use and advanced Imaging Capabilities: Includes 3D/4D volume imaging, Doppler, and elastography for comprehensive diagnostics.

John Chigbu, Chief Executive Officer of Cassona Global Imaging said “The donation is a step towards bridging the gap in healthcare infrastructure and training in Ghana. We aim to establish a robust healthcare ecosystem by providing quality medical equipment, training, and support.”

Prof. David Asamoah, Pro Vice Chancellor of KNUST, for his part, said, “We extend our deepest appreciation to Cassona Mindray for believing in our vision and investing in our future. This partnership will enhance the training environment for our students and drive innovation and excellence in education and healthcare.”

Alvin Liu, Global Radiology Product Sales and Marketing Department, International Marketing Manager of Mindray, stated, “The donation is part of our efforts to improve healthcare in Ghana and beyond. We aim to share our latest technologies with students and medical professionals, enabling them to provide better healthcare services.”

The partnership between Cassona and KNUST is expected to continue growing, with potential for further collaborations and investments. The university looks forward to exploring more opportunities for mutual benefit, driving innovation and excellence in education and healthcare.
