CA Project hosts inter-house constitutional literacy quiz at Redeemer Preparatory & JHS

The CA Project, in collaboration with its partners, has organised a Constitutional Literacy Quiz at the Redeemer Preparatory and JHS at Pig Farm in Accra.

The event, held on October 8, 2025, brought together students, teachers, volunteers, and civic educators for an engaging and inspiring competition designed to deepen students’ understanding of Ghana’s 1992 Constitution.

The quiz, held in partnership with the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Alicia Global, and the National Alliance of Ghana Law Students, also served as an assessment of the CA Project’s ongoing constitutional literacy awareness programmes across the country.

The atmosphere was charged with excitement as students showcased impressive knowledge of constitutional principles — including citizens’ rights, the role of Parliament, the functions of the NCCE, and the sources of law in Ghana.

After a keenly contested session, Obeng Dapaah House emerged as the overall winner, taking home a cash prize of GH¢1,000 for its outstanding performance.

Founder and Director of The CA Foundation, Celestine Addo, underscored the importance of nurturing constitutional literacy from an early age.

“If we hope to have responsible citizens in the near future who will fully participate in governance and uphold the good principles of democracy in Ghana, then these young ones should be our darlings,” she said.

The Greater Accra Regional Director of the NCCE, Mawuli Agbenu, also expressed delight at the progress made by the students.

“Within a short period since the CA Project adopted Redeemer Preparatory and JHS, these children have gained full knowledge about their rights and the Constitution,” he said, urging donors and sponsors to support the initiative as part of their corporate social responsibility.

The CA Project is a flagship initiative of The CA Foundation dedicated to educating young learners on Ghana’s 1992 Constitution.

The project donates copies of the Constitution to schools and provides civic education sessions to help students understand their rights and responsibilities as citizens.

It is implemented through partnerships, sponsorships, and volunteer contributions from legal professionals and law students across the country.

The organisers expressed gratitude to all sponsors, partners, and volunteers for their unwavering support in advancing civic education nationwide.
