Bank of Africa has donated to the Office of the National Chief Imam in a bid to support Muslims observing the holy month of Ramadan.
The gesture reaffirms the bank’s commitment to community development and religious harmony.
The donation, presented during a brief ceremony, is intended to support activities at the Office of the National Chief Imam as Muslims across the country engage in fasting, prayer and acts of charity during the sacred period.
Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Bank of Africa, Leila Pentsil, said the gesture forms part of the bank’s commitment to contributing to the well-being of the communities it serves.
According to her, “As a bank, we are a business for continuity, so the interest or the development of the society is key. Faith-based institutions are very critical in developing the future so that our business can thrive, the community can develop, and we can continue to be in business.”
She noted that businesses have a role to play in supporting communities, adding that an initiative such as this helps foster unity and shared progress.
Ramadan is a significant period for Muslims worldwide, marked by fasting, prayer, reflection and generosity towards the less privileged. Bank of Africa says it remains committed to initiatives that promote social impact and community development across Ghana.
