The African University College of Communications (AUCC) is set to officially launch its new status as a fully-fledged autonomous university, now renamed the African University of Communications and Business (AUCB).

This milestone follows the Presidential Charter granted the university on December 19, 2024, allowing AUCB to operate as an independent degree-awarding institution.

In a statement ahead of the grand launch, the Vice Chancelor of AUCB, Prof. Abeku Blankson has described the transition as a “historic moment that redefines the future and strengthens its commitment to academic excellence, creativity, innovation, growth, and an expanded vision for higher education in Ghana and beyond.”

The official launch, scheduled for Thursday, February 13, 2025, will herald a series of celebratory events, including a photo exhibition, media engagements, an alumni homecoming and recognition, a street activation, student presentations, games, and a thanksgiving service at the Evangel Assemblies of God Church in Adabraka.

The four-day event will bring together alumni, students, faculty, community members, government officials, and industry leaders to celebrate AUCB’s achievement and journey.
