Delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Asunafo North Constituency in Ahafo Region have commended their parliamentary aspirants for desisting from campaigns of insult.

According to the delegates, aspirants have focused their campaign messages on promised improvements in people’s lives, and delegates are to assess these pledges for the polls on January 27, 2024.

In an interview with Adom News, they expressed satisfaction that the four aspirants refrained from using offensive language during their campaign meetings with delegates.

The delegates expressed happiness, pointing out that in past years, aspirants engaged in dirty campaigns and attacked each other, actions that didn’t benefit the party in general elections.

“When they come, they talk to us nicely. Everyone says what he or she will be able to do when given the position. They didn’t condemn one another.

“There were no words to attack one another. Everyone spoke peacefully. The important thing is to break the 8.

“All the people we have met in front of the delegates, there have been no concerns with their speeches.

An aspirant for Asunafo North, Nana Yaw Boadu, clarified that aspirants have acknowledged the party’s division caused by insulting campaign messages. Consequently, they have chosen to avoid such negativity and concentrate on their planned actions when elected.

He said that if they avoid insulting each other during the campaign, it will be hard for the NDC to use it for political advantage.

“This is an in-house battle. After that, we need to unite and battle NDC for power. Everyone tried to be careful with their choice of words,” he said.

“I am happy they accepted the advice and I urge all Ghanaians to replicate what the people of Asunafo North have done to get a good campaign that will help us be victorious over the NDC at the end of the elections.”
