The Ashanti Regional Police Command has announced the successful conviction and sentencing of three teenage armed robbery suspects in connection with a violent daylight robbery in the Asokore Mampong Municipality.

According to the police, the incident, which occurred on the morning of 1st July 2025 between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., saw Mamudu Issah, Samuel Takyi, and Alhassan Abubakari, all aged 18, carry out a series of armed attacks on residents of Boubai.

Armed with machetes and riding unregistered motorbikes, the trio accompanied by three other accomplices currently on the run robbed several individuals of mobile phones, bags, and cash.

Their crime spree was cut short thanks to the swift intervention of vigilant community volunteers, who tracked the suspects to their hideout in Aboabo later the same day.

The suspects were apprehended and handed over to police, along with ten recovered mobile phones and three bags believed to have been stolen during the robbery.
