ASCD, ICS and Good Future Foundation train teachers on AI in three regions

The Ghana Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), in partnership with the International Community School (ICS) and the Good Future Foundation, has successfully concluded a nationwide Artificial Intelligence (AI) Training Series for educators.

The initiative, held from 20th to 24th October 2025, reached teachers and school leaders in Tamale, Kumasi, and Accra.

The three-day training, conducted across the Northern, Ashanti, and Greater Accra regions, brought together more than 300 educators, administrators, and school leaders from both public and private institutions.

It sought to enhance digital literacy, foster innovation in teaching and learning, and equip participants with practical AI skills to transform classroom practice.

The programme introduced participants to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and explored how AI can be integrated into lesson planning, classroom management, and school administration.

Facilitators from ICS and the Good Future Foundation led interactive sessions on key topics including Classroom Wins Now: Planning, Prompting, and Assessment Integrity; Safeguarding, Data, and Policy; and Media Literacy and AI Disinformation: Teach It Tomorrow.

Participants engaged in live demonstrations, group discussions, and Q&A sessions, expressing optimism about AI’s potential to improve educational outcomes. “I can now use AI to assist me in lesson planning, assessment, and presentations,” said Adam Sulemana, one of the participants. “I’ve also learned how to fact-check information online.”

Director of International Community Schools Ghana, Dr Charles Yeboah, underscored the importance of the training, calling for stronger government policies to integrate AI into the national curriculum.

“We have partnered with the Good Future Foundation to make AI and professional development training accessible to as many teachers as possible. This is our contribution towards improving teaching quality and ensuring that every child has access to better education through empowered teachers,” he stated.

Following the training, participants expressed confidence that the knowledge and skills acquired would significantly enhance teaching and learning in their respective schools, marking a new step towards digital transformation in Ghana’s education sector.
