As the 2025 University of Ghana Corporate Football League draws to a close, all eyes turn to the University of Ghana Stadium this Friday, July 25, where Union Ghana and the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority will battle for the championship.

At the heart of this final are two strikers whose semi-final heroics have defined the tournament, Emmanuel Arthur and Prince Kofi Ameyaw.

Their goals did more than just seal victories; they reshaped narratives, reignited belief, and carried their teams from group-stage uncertainty to the grand finale.

For Union Ghana’s Emmanuel Arthur, the semi-final against the National Petroleum Authority was a moment of redemption.

After falling short in their final group game against the Armed Forces, Arthur stepped up when it mattered most.

His second-half winner was more than just a goal, it was a reclaiming of form and confidence, a message to everyone who doubted his consistency. Known for his composure and clinical finishing throughout the competition, Arthur reminded fans why he remains one of the standout performers of the tournament.

Across the pitch, Prince Kofi Ameyaw delivered a decisive blow of his own for GCAA. His 50th-minute winner against the previously unbeaten Ghana Armed Forces Officers Sports Club wasn’t just the goal that sent GCAA to the final—it validated the team’s tactical discipline and tireless effort.

After 49 minutes of relentless pressing and disruption of the group winners’ rhythm, Ameyaw struck with the kind of sharpness and timing that turns strategy into success. It was a moment that transformed GCAA’s ambitions from hopeful to historic.

What makes this final even more compelling is the shared storyline of the two sides. Both Union Ghana and GCAA entered the semi-finals as second-placed group finishers.

Few gave them a chance, but through a mix of grit, strategy, and belief, they toppled the favourites and booked their place in Friday’s final. It’s not just a clash for the trophy, it’s a meeting of two teams who’ve proved that resilience can outshine reputation.

Also on the day, the third-place play-off will see the Ghana Armed Forces Officers Sports Club take on the National Petroleum Authority in a bid to restore pride. Once tipped as title contenders, both sides now face the task of ending their campaigns with one last statement performance.

Both matches will take place on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the University of Ghana Stadium.
