In a speech read on her behalf, the Greater Regional Minister, Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, called on residents in the Ga South municipality to rally behind the government in its reset agenda.

She said the good thing about the theme of this year’s independence anniversary celebration is that it enjoins citizens to properly review the happenings in their communities and institutions to ignite a paradigm shift from their old ways of doing things.

She said it is only a proper reflection and review of systems and actions that a reset can be achieved.

Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo noted that President Dramani Mahama in recent weeks has begun a series of activities to kick-start his reset process.

This includes the National Education Forum held in Ho, which is aimed at transforming the education system for a sustainable future.

He again held the National Economic Dialogue in Accra with stakeholders from civil society organisations, the business community and government to set the course for Ghana’s economic recovery and long-term growth.

Speaking during the programme, the  MP for the area, Felix Akwetey Nii Okley said the theme for this year’s independence anniversary celebration, “Reflect, Review and Reset” is a clarion call for Ghanaians to do their best to develop the nation.

He said as a Member of Parliament he deeply understands the importance of education and the vital role it plays in shaping the youth for the future.

He urged Ghanaians to reflect on the milestone the country has achieved in the past 68 years and the need to rebuild on the foundation of unity and self-reliance.

The visibly elated Proprietor of Arise Royals Montessori Gloria Baaba Riverson said she was not surprised that her school won the march pass competition because they engaged some security personnel to train the children.
