The Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) is offering a cash reward to anyone who voluntarily returns items taken from the scene of Wednesday’s military helicopter crash in Adansi-Akrofuom.
In a statement signed by Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene on Saturday, August 9, the Council said the incentive will remain in effect until the close of Monday, August 11, 2025.
“The ARCC is willing to offer a cash reward for any person who willingly returns any item. This offer will be in place until the close of day, Monday, 11th August, 2025.
“Any person found in possession of such items beyond the above date would be deemed a criminal and will face the full rigours of the law,” the statement read.
The ARCC said intelligence indicates that some residents took metals, screws, drives, boards, and other belongings from the wreckage after the crash, which claimed eight lives, including two ministers of state.
The Council urged the public to return any items, no matter how small, to Unit Committees, Assembly Members, Municipal or District Chief Executives, or members of the investigating team on the ground.
