Appolonia City and King City have spent over GH¢120,000 to provide hot meals to Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates at the Appolonia MMDA Junior High School in Accra, and Whindo Assakae and Windo M.A. Junior High Schools in Takoradi.

This forms part of their annual BECE school feeding project.

The initiative, now in its fourth year, is designed to ensure that candidates from the two communities are well-nourished and focused during this critical stage of their academic journey.

It covers both breakfast and lunch for the entire duration of the exams in both cities.

Speaking on behalf of the students, Madam Vera Osei, Assistant Headmistress of Appolonia MMDA JHS, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Appolonia City.

“This thoughtful support has not only relieved a financial burden on our families but has also boosted the morale and confidence of the candidates,” she said.

Yaw Acheampong Adjei, Marketing and Communication Manager for Appolonia City, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to education and community development.

“We believe that investing in the future of our youth is vital. By providing these meals, we hope to give the students one less thing to worry about and help them perform at their very best,” he stated.

He also wished the candidates success in their exams.

The gesture has been widely praised by parents and educators as a timely and impactful contribution to student welfare and the broader educational goals of the Appolonia and Whindo/Assakae communities.

In total, this year’s programme benefited 401 pupils and 22 teachers across the two regions.

Appolonia City and King City are developments by Rendeavour, Africa’s largest urban developer, with over 30,000 acres of city-scale projects in Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Zambia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
