Antoine Semenyo joins Manchester City until 2031

Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo has officially joined Manchester City on a five-and-a-half-year deal from Bournemouth.

The 26-year-old completed his medical on Thursday, with City agreeing to meet the £65 million release clause for the Ghanaian forward.

City will pay £62.5m plus £1.5m to Bournemouth, who will also benefit from 10% of any future sale profit.

Semenyo, who is the first Ghanaian to sign for the blue side of Manchester, has netted 10 goals and provided three assists this term.

He chose Pep Guardiola’s side after attracting interest from other suitors, including Manchester United and Liverpool.

“I am so proud to have joined Manchester City,” said Semenyo.

“I have watched City over the last decade under Pep Guardiola, and they have been the dominant team in the Premier League as well as achieving amazing things in the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup,” he said.

“The Etihad is my new home. I can’t wait to play in front of the fans here and I hope to show everyone what I can do.”

He will be available to feature immediately for City and is also eligible to play in next Tuesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg at Newcastle.
