Amerado shuts down Okese Park with third edition of My Motherland Concert in Ejisu

Ejisu came alive over the weekend as award-winning rapper Amerado hosted the third edition of his annual flagship event, the My Motherland Concert, at the iconic Okese Park.

The highly anticipated homecoming concert once again highlighted Amerado’s deep connection to his roots while celebrating Ghanaian music, culture, and community.

The occasion drew an estimated crowd of between 15,000 and 20,000 patrons.

Over the years, the event has grown into one of the most talked-about artist-led concerts in the Ashanti Region.

Amerado delivered a gripping headline performance, thrilling fans with a powerful set packed with his biggest hits and lyrical showcases that define his artistry.

His commanding stage presence and strong audience interaction turned Okese Park into a wave of chants, sing-alongs, and high energy that lasted deep into the night.

The concert featured a strong supporting lineup of top-tier acts, including music legend Okyeame Kwame, King Paluta, Sista Afia, Strongman, Akwaboah, Oseikrom Sikanii, and Fancy Gadam, whose energetic performances kept the crowd on its feet.

Surprise appearances from King Paluta and actor-turned-musician Lil Win further heightened the night.

For the first time in the history of the My Motherland Concert, the show also welcomed an international act, with Liberian music star JZyNo delivering a thrilling performance that added a cross-border flavour to the event.

Beyond music, patrons were treated to comedy performances by Asafo Powers and 24Gh, whose skits brought laughter and variety to the massive crowd.

A special highlight of the night was a tribute segment honouring Okyeame Kwame for his immense contribution to Ghanaian music and culture, a moment warmly received by fans and industry players alike.

The event was graced by the presence of the Ejisuhemaa, Nana Yaa Asantewaa II, who delivered an inspiring address, adding traditional and cultural depth to the celebration.

The third edition of the My Motherland Concert ran through the night and officially closed at 6:00 am on Monday, marking one of the longest and most memorable live music events ever staged in Ejisu.

With its overwhelming turnout, rich lineup, and seamless blend of music, comedy, culture, and community engagement, the My Motherland Concert continues to cement its place on Ghana’s live music calendar and further solidify Amerado’s status as a hometown hero committed to giving back to his people.
