Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has disclosed that all road projects under the government’s ‘Big Push’ infrastructure agenda are scheduled to commence by the end of August 2025.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show on Friday, Mr Agbodza noted that the only exception is the proposed bridge construction across the Volta Lake, linking Dambai to Krachi in the Oti Region.
“We are saying by the end of this month that we have entered (August), all Big Push projects must be on site except one, which may not fully start, that is the Dambai bridge, because we need to do further investigation.”
He explained that while the other projects are ready to break ground, preparatory works for the bridge are still ongoing. “They can start site preparation and all that.”
According to him, the projects are to be delivered within two years, “And all the projects have been deliberately structured to span two years.”
The Big Push initiative forms a major part of the government’s renewed infrastructure drive, aimed at accelerating economic activity and enhancing connectivity across regions.
