In the wake of the Akosombo Dam spillage that wreaked havoc on nearby communities, Genser Energy Ghana Limited has emerged as a beacon of hope and compassion.
With hearts full of empathy, a delegation from Genser Energy, led by Vice President of Operations, Daniel Ayi, and Sustainability Manager, Issah Mohammed, extended a helping hand to those in need at Sogakope in the Volta Region and nearby communities.
Their generous donation, valued at over GH¢250,000, spoke volumes of their commitment to making a positive impact.
The relief items, including leather-covered student mattresses, bags of rice, sachet water, soap, mosquito nets, maize, and essential medical supplies, were symbols of their unwavering support for the affected residents.
Daniel Ayi, representing Genser Energy Ghana Limited, encapsulated their sentiments perfectly when he said, “Genser heard the sad news of how the spillage was affecting residents of the Volta and was touched.
“It is not much, but this can help ease the burden and pain of those affected. I hope these items reach those actually affected by the spillage.”
The dignitaries, including members of parliament and local chiefs and elders, were present to receive these crucial relief supplies, ensuring that they reached the right hands in the affected communities.
Moreover, the Genser Energy delegation went a step further, visiting the affected areas to witness firsthand the extent of the displacement and the consequences of the spillage.
This act of empathy and solidarity served as a shining example of corporate responsibility and kindness.
