Ajax emerged as the inaugural champions of the Joseph Paintsil U-15 Cup, defeating Evergreen FC 4-0 in the final to claim the title.
The tournament, which brought together eight teams from Fadama, including Miami FC, Desideros Golden Boys, Third World, De Gunners, Field Master, and Evergreen, was organized by Black Stars winger Joseph Paintsil.
Paintsil, a former Ajax Fadama player, created the U-15 competition to inspire young footballers in the community where he began his career, providing them with a platform to chase their dreams despite the challenges they face. Speaking to 3Sports, Paintsil highlighted the importance of the tournament, saying, “It’s all about giving back to the younger kids, showing them there’s always hope and a path to professional football. This is where I started.”
In addition to the trophy and medals, Ajax were awarded GHS 15,000, while runners-up Evergreen FC received GHS 10,000 and medals. The event not only celebrated football talent but also reinforced the commitment to nurturing the next generation of players in the local community.
