Kwame Sowu Jnr., the writer

Many people, including some of the highly educated, remain ignorant of or afraid of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Some distrust it, while others entertain exaggerated fears about machines taking over the world. But AI is neither guesswork nor magic. At its best, it is a tool of precision, only as reliable as the quality of data and direction it receives.

If you want AI to guess, it will guess. But if you want it to be dependable and accurate, you must feed it properly, just like a pig. Good feed produces good pork. The difference between poor and effective AI use always comes down to the quality of data and the clarity of human input.

AI stands out for its speed, its ability to process massive volumes of information, its sharp memory, and its unmatched analytical power. It doesn’t get tired, emotional, or distracted. When used correctly, it helps humans think faster, work smarter, and make better-informed decisions.

The earlier we embrace it and learn to use it better, the easier and more effective we will become.

Most importantly, organisations, institutions, companies, and schools must begin to understand and adopt AI intelligently rather than fear it. They must develop clear AI policies and frameworks to help them move forward faster, using technology to enhance human capability rather than replace it.

AI is not the enemy of intelligence; it is its most powerful amplifier. The real danger lies not in machines thinking too much, but in people refusing to think enough about how to use them wisely.
