Alban Bagbin has revealed that former Dome-Kwabenya legislator, Adwoa Safo, did not vote for him during his election as Speaker of Parliament.
Mr. Bagbin made the comment when the family of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo paid a courtesy call on him to officially inform him of the Apostle’s passing.
“Adwoa Safo is my daughter… but she did not vote for me to become Speaker,” Mr Bagbin said, drawing laughter from those present.
“I knew her even before she joined me in Parliament… I know those who vote for me,” he added.
The visit formed part of Parliament’s efforts to commiserate with the family following the passing of the renowned inventor and founder of the Kantanka Group.
On September 14, the Safo family and the Kristo Asafo Church confirmed that Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo has died.
He is said to have died peacefully on September 11.
