The campaign team of Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum says the former Education Minister’s performance in public office and long years of leadership have positioned him as the natural choice to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the next general elections.
Speaking on JoyNews’ The Pulse on Monday, January 21, Dr Gyamfi Adwabour Ajabour, Campaign Manager for Dr Adutwum, said the party’s delegates are ready to reward competence and experience by electing his candidate as flagbearer at the January 31, 2026, primaries.
According to him, Dr Adutwum has already sold himself to the Ghanaian public through his achievements in the education sector and his strong international profile.
“If you ask me, the most difficult hurdle is even to wrestle the flagbearership, which we are going to win. The easiest part is to sell Dr Yaw Adutwum to Ghanaians,” he said.
Dr Ajabour noted that Ghanaians continue to see Dr Adutwum as a proven leader whose record speaks louder than campaign promises.
“Based on what he did at Education and his global appeal, Ghanaians see him as someone like gold — somebody that must lead the country because of the things he has done over the years,” he added.
He revealed that the campaign has so far toured close to nine out of the 16 regions, with a strong network of regional coordinators and party stewards actively advancing the message in other parts of the country.
Dr Ajabour stressed that the campaign is not worried about time constraints, insisting that the team remains confident of victory.
“It’s a whole force, a very big team behind Dr Yaw Adutwum, and all of them are very formidable and ready to make sure the NPP makes history by electing Dr Yaw Adutwum come January 31, 2026,” he stated.
