As a lifelong admirer of classic and vintage automobiles, I am absolutely thrilled to extend my deepest admiration and heartfelt congratulations to the visionary Osei Kwame Despite for establishing a world class Automobile Museum in East Legon, Accra.

This magnificent institution, featuring over 60 top grade, meticulously restored vehicles, is not just a collection; it is a triumph of passion, dedication, and the preservation of automotive history.

For enthusiasts like myself, classic cars are more than just machines; they are rolling works of art, embodiments of engineering brilliance, and time capsules of cultural evolution.

Beyond their beauty and nostalgia, these vehicles represent one of the most rewarding investment opportunities in the tangible assets market. While modern cars depreciate the moment they leave the showroom, classic automobiles consistently appreciate in value, often outperforming traditional investments like stocks and real estate.

Despite car meseum

According to the Knight Frank Luxury Investment Index, rare classic cars have delivered annual returns of 13 percent over the past decade, with iconic models like the Ferrari 250 GTO selling for upwards of 70 million dollars, more than double their value from just a few years prior. The Hagerty Price Guide further confirms that well-maintained classics, particularly those with historical significance, have seen steady value growth even during economic downturns.

To see such a prestigious collection curated and displayed in Ghana is nothing short of extraordinary. Each vehicle in this museum tells a story of innovation, craftsmanship, and the golden eras of motoring. Whether it’s the sleek curves of a vintage Rolls Royce, the raw power of a classic American muscle car, or the timeless elegance of a Mercedes Benz from the 1950s, this museum is a sanctuary for petrolheads, investors, and history lovers alike.

Mr. Despite, your commitment to restoring and preserving these automotive treasures is commendable. It takes more than just resources to build such a collection; it requires an unrelenting passion, an eye for detail, and a deep respect for heritage. By sharing these masterpieces with the public, you have not only enriched Ghana’s cultural landscape but also highlighted the financial wisdom behind classic car ownership.

This museum is more than just a display; it is a monument to excellence, a homage to automotive artistry, and a masterclass in alternative investment strategy. I have no doubt that it will become a must visit destination for enthusiasts, historians, and collectors from around the world.

Once again, bravo, Mr. Despite! Your vision has given the automotive community a priceless treasure. May this museum thrive for generations, continuing to ignite the same passion and admiration that these magnificent machines, and their appreciating value deserve.

Long live classic cars, and long live this incredible institution!
