The invaluable contributions of Ghana’s rare heroes and heroines took centre stage yesterday, Saturday, June 28, 2025, as the JoyNews Impact Makers Awards celebrated its 3rd annual edition at the Ecobank Head Office in Accra.

The prestigious event, organised by media giant Multimedia Group Limited, brought together government officials, corporate partners, and distinguished guests to honour individuals whose courage and selfless innovation are profoundly shaping a better future for the nation by leaps and bounds.

Addressing the gathering, Mr Fiifi Koomson, the General Manager for Joy Brands, lauded the enduring spirit of the awardees, emphasising the profound journey the initiative has taken and the benefit to society.

“Tonight, we stand once again in awe of Ghana’s everyday heroes – those whose quiet courage, selfless innovation, and enduring commitment are shaping a better future for all of us,” he noted.

Mr Koomson further added, “This is the 3rd year of the Impact Makers journey, and what a profound impact it has made. From Atta-ne-Atta to Wa, from schools and hospitals to farms and street corners, our honourees have been the light in places often overlooked.”

The brain behind the daily operations of the top media brands highlighted the powerful legacy of past winners of the awards, including Isaac Adjaotor of Ada, recognised for his Farm for Livelihood Association supporting persons with disabilities and celebrated among Africa’s top 100 changemakers.

Mr Koomson lauded Eunice Asiedua, who established a school in Noka from scratch, enrolling 125 pupils in just six months, alongside Dr Kwame Sarkwah, Hellen White-Poku, Samuel Wonder Djirackor, Andrew Agyenim Boateng, and Joseph Mawudzorm, all lauded for their powerful civic actions.

This year’s cohort of Impact Makers proved equally inspiring, with recognition extended to individuals making strides in critical areas such as women’s financial empowerment, inclusive education, hybrid learning innovations, and environmental wellness, among others.

Looking ahead, the JoyNews Impact Makers Awards, in partnership with the Centre for Strategic Philanthropy and Social Investment of the Pentecost University and Philanthropy Ghana, unveiled ambitious plans to further empower its awardees.

These include securing scholarships and sponsorships to help winners scale their impactful initiatives, expanding global networks by connecting awardees to NEXUS Global, African Philanthropy Network, WINGS, and the African Youth Philanthropy Network, and enrolling them in mentorship programmes to enhance their philanthropic impact.

The success of the awards, Mr Koomson acknowledged, would not be possible without the unwavering support of its esteemed partners and sponsors.

He extended special thanks to the McDan Foundation, Maranatha Oil Services, Goldkey Properties, M&C Group Global, German Ozone Medical Centre, Latex Foam, CEO Summit, Lakeside Estate, the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, CESPSI, and Philanthropy Ghana.

“Your belief in Ghana’s human potential keeps this mission alive,” he affirmed.

In his concluding remarks, Mr Koomson extended gratitude to both nominees and partners, urging the audience to “watch closely, be inspired, and take action.”

The 3rd Impact Makers Awards reaffirmed its commitment to unearthing and celebrating Ghana’s unsung heroes, solidifying its role as a vital platform for driving positive change across the nation.

This year’s edition featured profound initiatives that made the cut for the final list, with Raymond Senyo Amezado emerging as the overall winner for the 2025 Impact Makers Awards.

The others who scooped prestigious awards in various categories were:

With the awards gaining considerable momentum and interest, future projects promise to unearth and honour more individuals in spectacular initiatives for societal development.
