Alan Kyerematen

“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.

2 Timothy 1:7″

Very often, incumbents seek to use the authority of the power given them by the masses to succeed themselves through endorsement of surrogates by the “system”.

Having dominated the NPP since the 2007 Legon Presidential Conference, there is a strong public perception, even if debatable, of some functionaries around H.E. President Akufo-Addo trying to prevent change and renewal in the leadership of the Party in favour of themselves against the yearning of the Party grassroots, who believe only genuine change can lead to continuity in power.  Grassroots delegates believe Alan represents renewal and a real possibility of victory in 2024.

The Swedru Declaration scared the NDC. Kufuor suffered severe verbal terrorism for the perception of being against the then change candidate Nana Addo. Whether history is karma or the other way round, an “Official Candidate”, enjoying official endorsements, is pitched against the Private Sector Champion, the man for genuine change who has patiently and courageously waited to lead the Party to break the 8.

The majority of NPP delegates understand and accept their duty to select a candidate “fit for the times”. This time demands an extraordinary person with the credibility to restore and transform the economy to generate jobs and incomes, rebuild the Party and convince Ghanaians that the NPP should be trusted to break the eight.

When you refuse to understand delegate motivations and coercive endorsements fail, then you “fear delegates”. You fear delegates when they refuse to fear your authority and choose the right candidate against all odds. The “Official Candidate” simply does not meet the expectations of the delegates and needs of the nation.

From FUSMED, FOUNDATION FOR FUTURE LEADERS, ENTERPRISE AFRICA to YEF, CBV, WTO and now AfCFTA, Alan is the Party businessman. His phenomenal capacity to grow people is what the Party needs to present to the nation to secure an unprecedented third term to have a realistic chance of transforming the fortunes of Ghana.

The Private Sector has a huge stake in the quality of leadership needed for a breakthrough in the 2024 election. They ought to come out and testify. This is your time. Your time to make Ghana appreciate wealth creation as the best mechanism for sustained growth and prosperity.

Traditional Authorities all over Ghana have spoken. Delegates are waiting for the Private Sector and Academia to add their confirmation.

The next natural leader of the NPP and Ghana is Alan Kyerematen. He will run an inclusive, innovative and inspirational campaign and government, with room for all talents, persuasions and interests, provided it’s about Ghana and transformation.

If endorsement was bad in 2007, it can’t be good in 2023.

YB writes.
