Sports journalist Alex Kobina Stonne elected UniMAC External Affairs Commissioner

Sports journalist and media personality with Adom Brands of the Multimedia Group Limited, Alex Kobina Stonne, has officially stepped into the world of student leadership after being elected External Affairs Commissioner of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) at the University of Media, Arts and Communication (UniMAC) in the 2026 SRC elections.

Stonne claimed a decisive victory, securing 708 votes — 68.14% of the total — in an election praised for its transparency, peaceful conduct, and credible process.

Known widely for his dynamic presence on Adom TV, Adom FM, and Asempa FM, Stonne’s transition from mainstream media to campus leadership marks an exciting new chapter.

Observers expect him to leverage his media experience and extensive external networks to raise UniMAC’s profile and forge strong partnerships beyond the campus gates.

The SRC Electoral Commission, which oversaw the elections, commended the student body for their maturity, discipline, and commitment to democratic values during the voting process.

In a brief address after the results were announced, Stonne expressed gratitude to the students for placing their trust in him.

“I am humbled by the confidence my fellow students have shown in me. I pledge to serve with humility, professionalism, and a solutions-driven approach, focusing on strengthening UniMAC’s external relations,” he said.

The newly elected SRC executives are set to assume office in accordance with UniMAC’s SRC Constitution, promising a fresh, energetic approach to student governance.

With his trademark passion and media-savvy approach, Stonne is poised to take UniMAC’s student leadership to new heights. Forward ever, backward never.
