Let's see what happens on December 30 – Matthew Nyindam on Kpandai rerun

Disputed Member of Parliament for Kpandai, Matthew Nyindam, says he remains unfazed by the developments surrounding the upcoming parliamentary rerun, insisting the process leading to the December 30 election appears “orchestrated.”

Speaking on Joy FM’s Midday News on Thursday, Mr Nyindam argued that the people of Kpandai voted for him because they trust his leadership—not because of party allegiance—and stressed that he is not troubled by the rerun.

He accused the state of deploying its resources and security apparatus against him ahead of the fresh polls.

“Today, the state thinks they can mobilise all the state resources and security to come after me in Kpandai. What do I have to say? Let’s see what 30th December will bring forth. That’s all I will say,” he noted.

Mr Nyindam expressed frustration over what he described as deliberate attempts to disadvantage him, despite his ongoing legal challenge against the High Court ruling that nullified the original results.

He also criticised Parliament for declaring the seat vacant while legal matters remain before the Supreme Court.

“Unfortunately, in Parliament, they have just declared a seat vacant that I am holding… declared prematurely, when we have a pending case on the 18th and 16th at the Supreme Court. Then the EC now comes out with a date for an election on the 30th. You see how they have planned the thing,” he said.
