Abigail Amma Afriyie Abora, a leading entrepreneur and prominent voice in Ghana’s pharmaceutical and digital health space, has been awarded Woman CEO of the Year in Pharmaceuticals at the seventh Women’s Choice Africa Awards, organised by Global Ovations.

The ceremony, held on Saturday, 29 November 2025, celebrated outstanding African women whose leadership and impact continue to shape their sectors. Deputy Chief of Staff Nana Oye Bampoe Addo served as Special Guest of Honour, applauding awardees for their contributions to national development.

This year’s event also honoured notable personalities such as Dentaa Amoateng MBE and Professor Elsie Effah Kaufmann, underscoring the prestige and credibility of the awards.

As CEO of Aide Chemists, Madam Abora has been instrumental in redefining pharmaceutical service delivery in Ghana. Under her leadership, Aide Chemists has grown into one of the country’s most trusted community pharmacy brands, serving more than 360,000 clients annually and maintaining over 60,000 loyalty customers through in-person care, telepharmacy services, and dependable delivery support.

Her vision has also driven the development of innovative digital health platforms, including the Momentum Your Health App and Amma AI, a virtual pharmacist assistant. These tools expand access to medicines, health education, tele-pharmacy, and smart decision support, reflecting her commitment to patient-centred, technology-enabled healthcare.
