In her remarks, she expressed heartfelt gratitude to the 1987 year group for their thoughtful gesture, acknowledging the significant impact it would have on the school’s academic programmes.

“We are truly grateful for this wonderful donation,” She said. “These books will go a long way in supporting our students and teachers, and we appreciate the effort the 1987 group has put into making this happen.”

The donation was made even more special by the involvement of Professor Akrong Hesse, a member of the 1989 year group and owner of Akrong Publications, a local book publishing company.

Professor Hesse had contributed some of the books, demonstrating his commitment to supporting education and his alma mater.

Ms Irene took the opportunity to appeal to other year groups to follow the example of the 1987 group, urging them to support the school in any way they could.

“We are grateful for the support we’ve received so far, but we still need the help of all our stakeholders to ensure our students receive the best possible education,” she said.

The 1987 year group’s donation was not an isolated act of kindness; they had previously undertaken other projects to support the school, including the construction of a borehole with a sizable storage tank, which had improved access to clean water for students and staff.
