God is truly a MOBA: Mfantsipim storms to 2025 NSMQ Glory!

When the final buzzer sounded at the National Theatre, the audience and students from Mfantsipim erupted, chants of “God is a MOBA!” echoing through the crowd. Mfantsipim School has done it again.

The Saints were back on top, crowned 2025 National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ) Champions after outsmarting St. Augustine’s College and Opoku Ware School in a finale that tested speed, intellect, and unshakable composure.

The Botwe boys arrived with quiet confidence and left with history, securing their fourth national title and reaffirming their reputation as one of Ghana’s finest academic powerhouses.

Mfantsipim announced its intent. Their precision, teamwork, and calm dominance lit up the arena. Each correct answer drew thunderous applause.

To many, this was more than just a win. It was a moment of restoration, a reminder that Ghana’s oldest secondary school, founded in 1876, which turns 149 years old, still stands tall as a citadel of excellence and faith.

Since its inception in 1994, the National Science & Maths Quiz has become a national tradition, a stage where intellect meets inspiration. Mfantsipim’s 2025 triumph adds another golden chapter to that story, one that will echo through classrooms and alumni halls for years to come.

And as Cape Coast celebrates, one anthem resounds from Balmer-Acquah to Brandful-Dontwi:
The toils of the Saints, exalted!
The sacrifices of the vision bearers, honoured!
Update the wonders of the world; make it eight, because Ben, Tijani, and Mohammed just did something marvellous!
They made it count.
Let the halls and hallways resonate!
Fill Cape Coast with celebration.
Tell your children’s children about them.
Be proud, MOBA; be elated, Botwe Boys!
Dwɛn Hwɛ Kan, Enuanom!
Ghana has been painted crimson and black!
This is FOUR THE SAINTS!

The first SHS in Ghana has once again proven why it remains a force, shaping history since 1876.
This is how you capture moments; this is how you feature in the history lessons.
The citadel of education has spoken.

FOUR-TIME WINNERS!
Congratulations, Mfantsipim School, the 2025 NSMQ Champions!
