Celebrated broadcaster Doreen Andoh will be distinguished at the 2025 Guinness Ghana DJ Awards later this month.
The host of Joy FM’s midmorning show will be honored for her outstanding contribution to Ghana’s media and entertainment fraternity, having spent 3 decades on radio.
Doreen is nicknamed the ‘Queen of the Airwaves’, and is currently marking her 30th year with Ghana’s leading radio platform Joy FM, where she has hosted the award-winning Cosmopolitan Mix for many years.
Organizers of the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards, Merqury Republic, have revealed that, for its 13th edition, powered by Smirnoff, the evergreen Doreen Andoh walks home with the Lifetime Achievement Award. She is often known for her professionalism since joining the Multimedia Group Limited.
Over the years, Doreen exhibited high levels of consistency in her line of work, either on radio as and presenter and disc jockey or as an events host, and has influenced a tall list of radio broadcasters and disc jockeys, confirming her versatility and revered status in Ghana’s media landscape.
The recognition could not be more timely, coinciding with Doreen Andoh’s 30th anniversary at Joy FM and the station’s own 30-year milestone, making her 2025 Guinness Ghana DJ Awards Lifetime Achievement honour both well-deserved and perfectly timed.
The November 29 night promises to be Merqury Republic’s biggest event yet, with confirmed performances from DJ Lord OTB, DJ Vyrusky, DJ Sly King, Merqury Quaye, AD DJ, DJ Phantom, and many more. Top-tier performers Kwabena Kwabena, Samini, and Stonebwoy have all been confirmed as well, as Africa prepares to ‘Shake the Floor’.
The Guinness Ghana DJ Awards, powered by Smirnoff, is certified as Africa’s Biggest DJ Night, and will broadcast live on Joy Prime on Saturday, at 7 pm, from the Palms Convention Centre in Accra.
Nominations have already been outdoored, with DJ Sly King contesting in 8 categories while reigning DJ of the Year, DJ Lord OTB contests in 7.
Nominees were selected by the Ghana DJ Awards Voting Board and Academy, comprising respected figures from the music, media, public relations, and creative sectors.
