China remains Ghana’s largest trading partner – Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has said China is Ghana’s largest trading partner, revealing that bilateral trade between the two nations reached over 11 billion US dollars in 2024.

Speaking at the ongoing Presidential Investment Forum in Beijing, President Mahama said, “Today, China is Ghana’s largest trading partner with bilateral trade reaching $11.8 billion in 2024.”

“Between 2020 and 2024, China’s exports to Ghana rose by nearly 46% while Ghana’s exports to China increased by over 11%,” he added.

On his part, Chinese President Xi Jinping pledged China’s support to help Ghana transform its resource wealth into sustainable development and benefit from Beijing’s zero-tariff policy for African countries.
