Yapei-Kusawgu MP launches GH¢1m annual education scholarship fund

The Member of Parliament for Yapei-Kusawgu in the Savannah Region, John Abdulai Jinapor, has launched a GH¢1 million Education Scholarship Fund to support brilliant but needy tertiary students in his constituency.

The initiative, which seeks to ease the financial burden on parents and guardians, is expected to significantly enhance access to quality tertiary education for students from the Yapei-Kusawgu Constituency.

Speaking at the launch in Buipe, Central Gonja District, the Minister for Energy and Green Transition reaffirmed his commitment to human resource development, stressing that “education remains the most powerful cornerstone for transforming lives and communities.”

He assured constituents that the Fund would be managed with transparency to ensure that beneficiaries are selected strictly on merit and genuine need.

Mr Jinapor explained that the Scholarship Fund forms part of his broader vision to empower the youth, improve educational outcomes, and promote sustainable development in Yapei-Kusawgu.
