Cardi B turns courtroom memes into merch, hawks “Am I the Drama” CDs in LA traffic

Cardi B has found a way to turn viral courtroom looks into cash.

Days after being cleared in a high profile civil trial, the rapper rolled up to Los Angeles traffic selling CDs that use three of her now famous courtroom images as cover art.

The stunt is equal parts tongue in cheek and outright hustle, and the clip of her hawking the discs has been shared widely online.

In a video posted to Instagram, Cardi B lays out the offer with deadpan humour and full salesmanship.

“Due to popular demands, I got the ‘Am I the Drama’ CD’s Court Edition,” she says while showing off three designs.

“I got the black hair version. I ain’t got the first day because you know my wig was messed up. I ain’t do that one. And then I got this one. They cost USD 9.99.”

She leans into the money angle with deliberate comic flair.

“And just because I won the verdict, guess what? I still gotta pay these lawyers. So if you could donate USD 9.99, these will be costing USD 9.99. Please buy these. You know I’m a single mother of three. I swear to God, if I don’t sell these albums, I’m gonna have to give up my Rolls Royce, give up my Lamborghini. How am I gonna live? How am I gonna take my kids to school?” she added.

The pop up sales pitch plays like a performance piece.

She strolls between lanes, interacts with amused drivers, and makes the act of selling feel like a live comedy bit.

The move follows a week of courtroom memes that showed her in flamboyant wigs and dramatic outfits.

Rather than fight the jokes Cardi B leaned in, packaging the looks as limited edition merchandise available for a short window.

In the clip she stresses scarcity, saying the CDs “will only be available until Friday.”

Reaction was instant. Fans praised her ability to make light of a stressful time and to monetise cultural chatter.

The stunt is also a demonstration of a wider pop culture lesson: in the age of memes artists can turn fleeting attention into commerce almost immediately.

Cardi B’s fans were quick to share the video and to post pictures of license plate window purchases, and the clip itself has added a fresh chapter to a public story that included courtroom testimony, a viral pen toss and the final verdict.

Whether you call it entrepreneurial genius, publicity savvy or plain old shade turned into profit, the message was clear. Cardi B took a courtroom moment and made it hers.

If nothing else, the CD hustle shows she can still surprise audiences with how fast she can spin drama into business.
