MTN Ghana reaffirmed its commitment to preserving Ghana’s cultural heritage with a donation to support the 88th Ada Asafotufiami Festival.

The gesture formed part of the company’s broader corporate social responsibility efforts and its long-standing support for traditional festivals across the country.

The MTN delegation, led by Francis Gyan, Regional Sales Manager, presented a package consisting of GH¢30,000 in cash, GH¢2,000 worth of airtime, and a drinks hamper to the Ada Traditional Council during a brief ceremony in Ada.

In his remarks, Mr. Gyan congratulated the chiefs and people of Ada on the celebration of the festival, describing Asafotufiami as “a radiant symbol of valor, unity, and heritage.” He emphasized the significance of traditional festivals in promoting cultural identity, boosting tourism, and stimulating local economies.

“For the past 18 years, MTN Ghana consistently supported the Ada Asafotufiami Festival. Our contribution today was a reaffirmation of our dedication to cultural preservation and community development,” Mr. Gyan said.

To enhance customer engagement during the celebrations, MTN operated experience centers at select festival grounds to provide personalized customer support. The company also used the occasion to educate community members on mobile money (MoMo) fraud prevention and encouraged the use of digital platforms such as the MyMTN App.

Receiving the donation, Nene Obichere Agudey III, Ada State Manklalo and Vice President of the Ada Traditional Council, expressed deep appreciation to MTN Ghana for its consistent and meaningful support. He acknowledged MTN as a vital partner in the continued success of the Asafotufiami Festival.

Mtn Ghana Reaffirmed

As a mark of appreciation, MTN Ghana was presented with a commemorative plaque in recognition of its unwavering support over the years. The award highlighted the company’s role as a responsible corporate citizen dedicated to promoting cultural exchange and improving the lives of Ghanaians.

The Ada Asafotufiami Festival remained a vibrant celebration of the Ada people’s unique history, traditions, and resilience. MTN Ghana’s involvement continued to reinforce the importance of public-private partnerships in sustaining Ghana’s cultural legacy.
