Joseph Paintsil scores brace in LA Galaxy win over Tijuana

Ghana international Joseph Paintsil was twice on the scoresheet for LA Galaxy in their big win over Tijuana earlier on Friday.

Paintsil scored two goals in the second half of the game as his side picked up a 5-2 win the League Cup as they advanced to the next stage of the competition.

The 27-year-old was handed yet another start with the club’s first outing of the Leagues Club this season with the front three also consisting of Matheus Nascimento and Gabriel Pec.

Nascimento opened the scoring for LA Galaxy but they were pecked back five minutes later as Tijuana grabbed an equaliser.

Paintsil missed from the penalty spot before Pec scored to give his side a 2-1 lead at halftime.
