The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has signed an MoU with Sky Brokers, a leading local logistics company, to provide pre-financing support for contractors and suppliers working on GETFund-funded projects.
This strategic partnership is aimed at accelerating project delivery and improving the efficiency of education infrastructure development across the country.
It aligns with the vision of President John Mahama to enhance equitable access to quality education.
Under the agreement, Sky Brokers and its Chinese partners, Jiangsu Yisong Construction Engineering Co. Ltd., will offer flexible, tailored pre-financing solutions to contractors and suppliers engaged in approved GETFund projects.
The initiative seeks to bridge funding gaps, minimise delays, and ensure the timely completion of critical school infrastructure.
At the signing ceremony, GETFund Administrator Paul Adjei underscored the importance of the partnership.
“One of the key challenges affecting timely project execution is access to upfront capital. This partnership with Sky Brokers addresses that gap directly.
“It aligns with our commitment to deliver on our mandate effectively, ensuring that schools and educational facilities are delivered on time and at the highest quality standards,” he said.
Sky Brokers’ Managing Director, Mesuna Deliman Osman, described the agreement as a game-changer for local contractors.
“We are proud to collaborate with GETFund on this transformative initiative. Our financing solutions are tailored to support local contractors and suppliers, boosting their capacity to deliver.
“This MoU represents not just a financial partnership, but a shared vision to improve educational outcomes in Ghana,” he said.
The partnership is expected to significantly cut down project lead times, improve local contractor participation, and enhance transparency and accountability in the funding and implementation process.
GETFund and Sky Brokers reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that this collaboration delivers tangible improvements in Ghana’s educational infrastructure, contributing to the government’s broader goal of quality and inclusive education for all.
