Lawyer for the embattled Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has confirmed that all bail conditions have now been fully satisfied, but a fresh legal hurdle is preventing his client’s release.
Speaking to JoyNews’ Michael Ashaley exclusively on Friday, May 30, Andy Appiah-Kubi, who represents Chairman Wontumi, revealed that the GH¢50 million bail with two justified sureties has been met.

He noted that the legal team is working swiftly to resolve the new court matter and expressed hope that the issue could be cleared by Monday, which would pave the way for Chairman Wontumi’s release.
