FirstBank Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to traditional institutions and community development with a donation of GH¢100,000 to support the Ga Mantse Educational Fund and the upcoming Homowo festival.

Led by its Managing Director, Victor Yaw Asante, a delegation from FirstBank Ghana paid a courtesy call on King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Ga Mantse, at the Ga Traditional Council on Friday.

The visit was aimed at formally introducing the bank’s leadership to the traditional authorities and strengthening ties with the Ga State.

The donation will be split equally, with GH¢50,000 allocated to the Educational Fund and the remaining GH¢50,000 designated for the celebration of Homowo, the Ga people’s annual festival.

In brief remarks during the visit, Mr Asante noted that FirstBank Ghana has consistently supported the Ga Traditional Council in various ways over the years, especially during the annual Homowo festivities.

However, the bank found it important to formally engage with the traditional leadership and deepen the longstanding relationship.

Mr Asante said the Ga State has been a gracious host to the business for the past 30 years and the visit was to show the appreciation of FirstBank, pledge continued support, and commit to making an annual contribution to the Ga Mantse Educational Fund.

He also commended the Ga Mantse for his visionary leadership and commitment to youth development, adding that the bank had been closely following the king’s efforts and aspirations for his people.

In response, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II expressed his appreciation to FirstBank Ghana for the gesture, particularly the support for education, which he described as central to his vision for the future of the Ga State.

The king said the future of the youth is at the core of his agenda and that the support would greatly enhance efforts to empower young people through education.
