Tema Oil Refinery

The Commerce Division of the Tema Oil Refinery Limited (TOR) said it has exceeded its revenue targets for February 2025, doubling it.

This was disclosed in the March 2025 edition of “TOR In Brief,” published on the company’s website to update the public on its operations.

It noted that exceeding the revenue sets a new benchmark for success in the upcoming months to support the company in meeting its administrative and statutory obligations.

“The refinery almost tripled its internally generated funds (IGF) in monthly revenue, achieving the highest recorded monthly revenue in the last three years.”

It added that this was the outcome of a team that refuses to settle for less, hard work, and strategic planning resulting in increased inflows and enhanced product storage; reflecting the refinery’s commitment to the strategy of sweating its assets for increased profits.

“At the heart of this achievement are the resilience and dedication of the Commerce Division, with support from finance, maintenance, production and teams across the organisations to maximise revenue opportunities.”

The publication added that the collective efforts have strengthened TOR’s financial standing and set an ambitious precedent for future performance, noting that with it serving as motivation, the commerce division was poised to achieve even greater success in the upcoming months to drive sustainable growth in the refinery’s terminal business.

TOR, Ghana’s premium oil refinery, was commissioned in September 1963 and is known for providing high-quality petroleum products with exclusive production of Aviation Turbine Kerosene (ATK) and is the sole producer of premix fuel for the fishing sector.

The refinery has a 45,000 bpsd (barrels per stream day) crude distillation unit (CDU) capacity, 14,000 RFCC (residue fluid catalytic cracking) capacity, 1,925,348 crude storage capacity, and 262,652 metric tonnes of white product storage capacity.
