Attorney-General Godfred Dame has underscored the significance of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) objective to break the eight-year electoral cycle, framing it as essential for Ghana’s future rather than for the party’s self-interest.

Speaking at the Efia NPP campaign launch and the inauguration of the campaign team on Monday, August 5, 2024, Dame articulated that a vision for national progress drives the push for a third consecutive term for the NPP.

He emphasized that breaking the eight-year cycle is critical for ensuring the long-term prosperity of Ghana.

“The NPP must break the 8, and breaking the eight is not for any selfish reason at all.

In my view, it is simply for the future of this country,“ Dame asserted. He urged supporters not to be swayed by opposition claims, arguing that the NPP’s vision, led by a figure like Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, is clear and bold.

Dame criticized the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), questioning their vision and accusing them of lacking concrete plans. He challenged the NDC’s proposed 24-hour economy, suggesting it lacks feasibility and needs to address Ghana’s needs.

“Our country requires a party with a focused vision and clear direction. We need a leader like Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who has the vision to guide us forward,“ Dame said, reinforcing his call for support for the NPP’s campaign.
