Black Stars forward, Jordan Ayew, says he disagrees with the assertion that the current crop of players for the national team are not committed to Jersey.

“Well, first of all, I don’t agree with that. No one lacks commitment,” Jordan said in prematch press conference on Wednesday.

“Everyone who plays football, this is bread and butter and everyone gives this 100%.

Ghana’s senior national team has been on a decline for almost decade despite the array of individuals talents available in the country.

Since 2017, the Jordan’s generation has won one of their last 10 AFCON matches, and struggled in qualifying and friendly matches.

These so-so results have led to many questioning the desire of the players who wear the national colours.

But the last son of the Ghana’s football dynasty says, “Everyone is fully committed. Just that sometimes things go your way things, and other times things don’t go your way.

Ghana lost its opening Group B game against Cape Verde on Sunday, with a performance he personally described as below par considering the quality of the players and where they ply their trade.

The result leaves Ghana in precarious situation as the country faces serial winners of this tournament, Egypt on matchday two.

The Crystal Palace forward admits “…tomorrow is going to be a tough game. We put ourselves in this situation and we need to come out of it.

“[As I said] sometimes things go your way sometimes things don’t go your way.

“But we need to force things and tomorrow [Thursday against Egypt], we’re going to force things and we’ll see after.”

For the players to salvage the situation he said is self-inflicted, they would have to play above themselves.

“I think we need to do more that’s for sure and we are ready to do more and we’re going to do more so nobody should worry about that.

“Tomorrow is a big day and we know that it’s a big day and we know how how much it means to Ghanaians and for us.

“We want to perform, we want to perform in this tournament. We didn’t just come here just to visit Abidjan, we came here to to perform well.

“We’ll see what happens tomorrow because and we’re ready. I wouldn’t agree when you people say people lack commitment,” he said.
