The Co-founder of BKQ Foundation, Nonkazimulo Quashie, has donated assorted food items to the Akropong School For The Blind to ensure a joyful festive season for the students.
The donation ceremony which took place on Sunday saw the school receive items such as flour, rice, tomato paste, gari, buckets, maize among others.
During the donation ceremony, Mrs. Quashie expressed her joy and honor in contributing to the well-being of the students.
She conveyed warm greetings from South Africa and emphasised the importance of supporting the “incredible institution and its exceptional students.”
Explaining the purpose of BKQ Foundation’s presence on the campus, Mrs. Quashie praised the commitment of the staff, teachers, and administrators at the Akropong School For The Blind.
She stated that the foundation was established with a clear mission to make a positive impact on the lives of those facing challenges in society, especially the less fortunate.
Addressing the immediate needs of the school, Mrs. Quashie acknowledged the information provided by the head teacher, Veronica Derry, indicating that food is the most pressing requirement.
She remarked, “It’s based on this that we’ve decided to donate these food items to ease your plight. While our support may only scratch the surface, we hope that it will provide some relief and comfort to the students and staff.”
The donation aims to contribute to the well-being of the students, nurturing their development and ensuring a conducive environment for learning.
Assuring the students that they are not alone, Mrs. Nonkazimulo Quashie pledged the continued support of the BKQ Foundation.
