Six metallic containers used for commercial activities have been destroyed in a fire outbreak at Atomic Down near the Save Mall Shopping Centre.
Crews from the Legon Fire Station arrived at the scene to find heavy smoke and flames engulfing the containers.
Due to the rapid spread of the blaze and the absence of a hydrant in the immediate area, additional support was requested from the Madina Fire Station.
Fire officers managed to bring the flames under control and eventually extinguished the fire after several hours.
The fire damaged an unspecified quantity of materials stored in the containers.
Eight nearby shops were swiftly salvaged to prevent further damage.
No casualties were recorded.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
