5. NetEase Games

NetEase is a Chinese tech company which was founded in 1997 and is responsible for developing and publishing games like Marvel Rivals, Rusty Rabbit, Marvel Superwar, and Galactic Frontline, amongst others.

According to the most recent reports, they have a revenue of 11.5 billion USD, making them the 5th biggest gaming company in the world.

If you have ever had even the slightest interest in video games, chances are that you have heard of Nintendo a few times. It is one of the most popular companies in the industry, and that’s no surprise as it has been around for a long time, having been founded in 1889 and released its first console in 1977.

It is a Japanese company and it reported a revenue of 11.6 billion USD.

3. Microsoft Gaming

As you know, Microsoft is an American company and the gaming arm is responsible for games like Call of Duty, Starcraft, Hellblade, Pillars of Eternity, and even Candy Crush.

Microsoft Gaming reported a revenue of a whopping 21.5 billion USD, that’s about 10 billion USD more than Nintendo in 4th.

2. Tencent Games

Here we have another Chinese company which was founded in 2003 but has quickly grown to become one of the biggest companies in the gaming industry.

This company is responsible for Arena of Valor, Ring of Elysium, and even partly owns Fortnite.

Tencent is a very large company with multiple divisions including Aurora Studio Group, LightSpeed Studios, and TiMi Studio Group.

At some point, it was the largest video game company, but it recently dropped to number 2 with a reported 25.5 billion USD revenue.

1. Sony Interactive Entertainment

Are you surprised that Sony is at number 1? This is one of the biggest names and most recognizable brands in the gaming industry. I mean, they make the PlayStation, does it really get bigger than that?

Of course, you know that Sony is a Japanese company, but Sony Interactive Entertainment, which is a subsidiary of the Sony Group and is responsible for producing the video games, is recognized as an American company, founded in 1993, with its headquarters in California.

It is the biggest video gaming company right now with a revenue of 29.8 billion USD.
