Speaking after the tournament, President of the 4 Garrison Tennis Club Benjamin Brayie Adusei expressed his delight by the overwhelming result recorded by his club over their rivals.

“It’s been an awesome tournament, last year they were here and it was very close. We went there in November and that too was close and to have played them this year and beaten them 9-2 I really don’t know what happened. I guess we were very determined to host and win. I’m very happy we beat them soundly.”

Touching on the growth of Tennis in the region, Benjamin Brayie said he is impressed at how the game is catching up amongst both the youth and old.

“You came here and saw the number of people who came to watch and also play, it shows that the game of tennis is gradually developing. I hope that tournaments like this will encourage people to take part in the sport.”

The 4 Garrison Officer Mess Tennis Club is expected to travel to Akosombo later in the year for the return encounter.
