Three bodies have been found burnt beyond recognition at Nanik following a violent attack this dawn in the community in the Bunkprugu/Nakpanduri district of the North East Region.
The three deceased included a 27-year-old teacher, Nashiru Maijida, a native of Walewale in the West Mamprusi Municipality.
The teacher was said to have been posted two years ago to the Nanik village.
The charred bodies have been conveyed and deposited in Binde Hospital awaiting autopsy.
The Nanik community was attacked this dawn by members of a rival faction in Bimbagu.
According to community members, nearly 50 houses have been burnt, and several other properties have been destroyed.
The two neighbouring communities have locked horns over the decision by traditional authorities to elevate the Chief of Nanik to paramountcy status.
