2026 U-17 WWC: Black Maidens to face Togo in first round of qualifiers

Ghana’s Black Maidens will return to competitive World Cup qualifying action in April when the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup begin.

The team return to compete football after serving a ban for age cheating.

The Black Maidens will face Togo in the first phase of the qualifying series for this year’s World Cup which will be played in Morocco.

Nana Joe Adarkwa’s side will face one of Liberia or Libya should they see out the challenge from Togo.

The draw for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2026 African Qualifiers was held on Saturday in Rabat, marking the official kick-off of the African qualifying campaign.

The games for the first round of games will be played between April 10 and 19, with the first legs taking place from 10th April, while the second legs take place from April 17th.

A total of 31 African teams are involved in these qualifiers, played in three knockout rounds, with two-legged ties home and away.

At the end of the third round, four teams will qualify for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Finals in Morocco.
