The Minister for Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has defended the 2025 Budget Statement, describing it as a people-centred policy document that directly responds to the needs and aspirations of Ghanaians.

He insisted that the government has taken significant steps to address the country’s economic challenges and improve the welfare of citizens.

Speaking after the debate on the 2025 Budget Statement on Tuesday, 25 March, Dr Forson emphasised that the policies outlined in the budget are designed to provide relief, create jobs, and stimulate economic growth.

“This budget is not just figures on paper; it is a comprehensive plan to address the real concerns of Ghanaians. We have listened, and we are responding with practical solutions,” he stated.

He highlighted key interventions, including increased investment in infrastructure, social welfare, and economic empowerment initiatives.

According to him, the government has already begun implementing measures to stabilise the economy and improve the livelihoods of ordinary citizens.
